'Rocky' Returning For Another Round

Yo Adrian, ring the bell – Rocky is coming back for another round.

Sylvester Stallone is signing on to reprise his role as the Italian Stallion for a sixth installment of the long-running film series, simply called "Rocky Balboa," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Stallone, who wrote the screenplay, will also direct the film.

The new film will follow a lonely and retired Rocky in Philadelphia, who comes out of retirement intending to fight a few low-profile local bouts, the Hollywood Reporter notes.

But when he's approached to fight the reigning heavyweight champ Mason "The Line" Dixon, his comeback ignites a media firestorm.

"'Rocky Balboa' is about everybody who feels they want to participate in the race of life, rather than be a bystander," Stallone said in a statement. "You're never too old to climn a mountain

It wasn't immediately clear whether Talia Shire, who appeared in five previous "Rocky" films as the boxer's love interest, Adrian, will return in the sixth installment, said Stuart Herriot, a spokesman with Revolution Studios, which is co-producing the film.

"In the script, she did pass away, but it's unsure whether she might appear in a flashback or in older footage," Herriot said. "It's too early in the production to tell."

But, Herriot said, Burt Young is expected to return as Adrian's brother, Paulie.

Shooting is slated to being in December in Philly and Los Angeles.

Stallone, 59, had reportedly been trying to make the sixth "Rocky" for several years and has spent time reworking the script.

The first movie, released in 1976, won three Oscars, including best picture and best director for John G. Avildsen.

You've got to be kidding. Rocky's role was dead a long time ago, but it's like the american dream, from rags to riches and back and forth. I watch it.

I have to admit...the Rocky movies got pregresively worse as they went along...I might see it at the dollar movies, though.
