Roller Block??

Is there some numbers on the block that will tell me what year my block is and if it's a roller block or not?? If so where are they located and how can I tell?? Thanks for the help. I know ive been asking a lot of beginer questions but im new to ford...

there are some casting numbers near the starter.That Should tell you when the block was made which can be a pretty good indication whether it's roller or not.....

Do you have the book or something to tell from the numbers or how would I do that once I have the numbers of the block near the starter???

The fastest way to tell if it is a roller block is by the bosses in the lifter valley being drilled and tapped. This is where the "spider" is bolted down to retain the roller lifters. A simple internet search will give you several sites that have the block number listings such as:
