Possibly a dirty IAC and throttle body, could also have oil in both as a result of a PCV system problem, like mentioned above.
The current combo is an '85 coupe with 302 bored and stroked to 364, Ported Twisted Wedge heads and a BXR intake, A9M ECM with a Moates chip, Doug Nash 5 spd, 4.56 gears, Hoosier 275/60/15 drag radials.
Daily driver '89 GT 302 stock block, crank, rods and pistons, ported GT-40P heads with stock valves, Ported Explorer intake, B302 cam, Z spec T5, 3.73 gears, Moates chip and no traction. Made 325 whp and 325 wtq.

The screen below the PCV vavle has to be plugged up, missing, missing baffle, below the screen, plugged or disconnected crank case vent hose or PCV hose. I see people try to cap off one or the other or leave one disconnected and then have the other still hooked up, does not work anyway other than both hoses hooked up, baffles in place, screen in place and not plugged up with sludge. The screens are only about $150 at Ford dealer and are fairly easy to replace, but most people will never replace them, if they get plugged oil will get pushed up the crank case vent hose to the throttle body. If the screen is missing or the baffle below it is missing, oil will get sucked up through the PCV valve into the intake, filling the intake with oil. Putting breather on the valve cover with eithe the crank case vent hose or the PCV still hooked up allows the engine to draw in unmetered air, meaning air that is not going through the MAF, meaning the engine will run leaner, because air got into the engine and was not metered by the MAF. Either leave the whole PCV system on the engine and functioning properly or cap all of it and use a breather or two, using two breathers is better.
