Yeah, I've read newer models are a lot more finnicky. Well I didn't have cats before, but decided to legalize and I got a great deal on L/T and catted X, so that's what I went with. I'm going to give a few shops a call this coming week if I don't get to it tomorrow to see what their schedules are like.

I would get a custom tune on the car to adjust your car from leaning out.

or you can send your mod list to modular depot and a check and they will send you a preloaded SC tuner. then you can get on with your life

HAHA... yeah haven't really had any time to call anyone. I sent a PM to Lethal, but no response as of yet. I'm gonna look into that right now. Just been driving and trying to keep my foot out of it...

EDIT: Which SC do you recommend? Are the 4 positions any good?? Or just the Xcal 2???

Well just got back from PSI and had Dean work with what I have and the 87 octane I had in the tank on the dynojet. Got 271hp at about 4900 rpm and 306ft.lb. at about 4200 rpm on the last and coolest run. All runs before that were a consistent 265hp/300 ft.lb. when it was a little warmer. It shut off on me twice on my way home when it was in neutral coasting to a stop... not sure why... but it did. Might it be too rich now? Might go back sometime soon and go for a higher octane tune, not sure yet. Just going to see what this one does first and what kind of mileage I'm getting with it.

you need a tune. You can get a sc tuner and order it with your mods from modular depot. or you can go to any of the 5 people that dyno tune mustangs in the area and they will get you within 5 hp of eachother.

Bring it back if its stoped like that i can easily fix that just need a lil more iac duty cycle added to it and it will stop.

and of course like i said if you decide you wana run 93 octane no charge well strap it back down and advance the timing for the better go juice.

your millage by very nature MUST drop some you were over 17-1 air fuel at cruise with it untuned and your runing the correct 14-15 to one now and thats why you arent getting the lean codes now. however you might lose a slight bit of millage due to that

I only drove it from the shop home yesterday with those two stalls, no light or anything. I'm going to go drive it in a bit on the highway and open it up a little, see how it runs cruising, etc. I'll let you know if anything else happens.

EDIT: Just got back from driving it on 1604 and a couple of backroads. Feels fine driving but has a lil' bit of a rattle noise from the exhaust... I'm guessing it has something to do with the cats like you said. It almost stalled once.

ya we can simply add 50 rpm to the idle setting or increase the iac duty cycle on slow down a little and that will stop it if it becomes a issue just let me know

Man... some of y'all need to read the thread before you post because you're not the first one to post something after the fact. It's only on the second page! Patience has never been an issue. If anything I was too patient and caused damage to the car or at least the cats and o2's. Sorry, it's just annoying. I already took it to PSI and got it tuned yesterday. Still has a few bugs that probably need to be worked out though.

271/306... those kooks LTs are kicking ass for you.

depending on how much you drive, I would be tempted to leave it at 87 octane at least for the summer. Those are good solid numbers. If you drive minimally and 10K less mileage a year, it wont cost you but an additional 10-15 dollars in monthly fuel costs to have the 93 tune.

Cams and a retune would be a lovely autumn present to yourself

Yeah, with gas still going up, I think I am gonna stick with the 87 for now. Might still have to have the IAC adjusted... but it hasn't acted up since that first day, so maybe it fixed itself. It is my daily driver between 10-15k. I saw a rerun of horsepower tv this weekend where they added crane z-cams to an 02 GT just like mine except I think everything else was stock except catback and CAI. It only picked up like 5-10 rwhp, but with all the other mods I have and a retune, I'm sure I would show a lot more gain. IF I ever go to that next level... it will be a while.

Those cams must suck. I have seen some real gains on a bone stock GT when vt stage 2s were added.

I would expect a 25rwhp gain with VTstage 2s
