Moscow's most modern destroyer, the "Admiral Chabanenko", will also steam to the Caribbean, along with other ships, including a fuel tanker, he added.

The naval exercise, to take place in November, will be backed up by an anti-submarine aircraft, based at a Venezuelan airfield, he said.

I don't know about this, kinda gets me worried. I know other nations do exercises in international waters all the time, but this is kinda close to the US.

we exercis with them all the time, you just never hear about it. we have an exercise called talisban saber, with austr, russia, us, and another country. you just never hear about it, i wouldn't lose any sleep over it. we have an agreement, their ports are still open as far as i know, my buddy just got back from a 6 month cruise, (they hit up vlodivistok)

am i worried, maybe a bit..but think about it this way...if they are closer to our borders...then that means they are further away from theirs...two or three ships is nothing i would worry about really cuz think about it...lets just say that russia did grow some balls to try shit with us.

China would jump in for us...
England always has our back and would shit all over their navy any day...
Most of europe may not run to arms but will at least "rabble" the shit outta them
Most of our military in that region of the world would respond real quick to those fuckers
Alaska houses some heavy equipment now cuz of all the tension and could make it to moscow no problem
and we have chuck norris...

Plus these words usually put me at ease...

we have the strongest navy in the world. admiral mike mullen had an awesome comment that i read somewhere. found it "The Navy is first and foremost a fighting, sea-going service — always has been. The weapons and technology change. The ships, aircraft, and submarines certainly improve over time, but the job remains the same: to take the fight to the enemy so that he cannot take it to us."

Russia just got some money in their bank account and now their flexing their muscles. Added to the fact that the US has no money in the bank, involved in two wars and the country is divided they have a lot more leeway with the rhetoric they throw out.

They aren't going to 'come at us' though. It will either be a proxy war or they will do the shit they did in Georgia to Ukraine. While they really want to get back to their glory cold war days, they aren't completely retarded and Nuclear War with us isn't really something they want to visit.

Phil, remember we've pissed alot of people in the past few years I don't know how many people would actually run to our aid with miliart efforts.

Though with the way things are heading, I think a major showdown is inevidtable, but i know my ass won't be aroudn for that.

We have one destroyer,I think, over there aiding a US coast guard cutter which has limited if any defense at all. They took that as us trying to "show them up" on a world stage. Nato is also sending ships to the Black Sea(for humanitarian purposes) could get real ugly over there.
