S197 Question

Can you change out the deck in these cars, and still use the factory Speakers and Amps???

Or is it like the 99-04 models were you have to change out everything??

Looking at this one right now...........

if you have the base stereo you will have no problems with just switching it out, if you have the shaker 500 or 1000, a couple other items have to be added which best buy sells or you have to swap out the speakers and amp

from another forum

Metra in-dash receiver kit, part number 99-5807 (available through Crutchfield, item #120995807).
Crutchfield wire harness kit, Item #120705521.
Radio Shack +5V Fixed-Voltage Regulator, model 7805, catalog #276-1770 (to eliminate the 'pop' sound from the door subs when turning the stereo on).
(For Shaker 500 ONLY!) RCA 'Y' adapter: 2 male to 1 female
