Wilford Hall Female Staff Sgt. Sexually Assaulted

SAN ANTONIO -- A female staff sergeant assigned to Wilford Hall Medical Center was sexually assaulted by a man outside her housing complex at Lackland Air Force Base.

Base officials said the victim, who is in her mid-20s and works a swing shift at Wilford Hall, was raped in a wooded area by a man at 2 a.m.

The man is described as muscular and 6 feet tall, but it's unknown if he is a civilian or military, base officials said.

Security patrols have been increased in the area due to the attack.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigation is handling the case.

It sux. Seems to happen anywhere. Ladies, be careful, try not to travel alone, use the buddy system if at all possible. Try carrying mace or a tazer. Just take care of yourselves. Don't let some animal victimize you.
