Yeah, I know you mentioned that and I'm going to check later on, but I was just checking to see if anyone had seen one for sure in any recent time. Also, you being a Mach 1 owner I just thought I'd ask... would u be one to flame if I put a mach hood on my gt? I don't care what car it's from, I just like the shaker look. If anything, I'll end up having the cdc kit put on, but I'd like to find a hood that already has a properly placed hole in it.

Get the real Mach 1 shaker setup/hood from Ford or some other source.

The CDC and Roush kits, where you cut a hole in your hood and stick on that "Applique" look cheap and tacky.

Yay for shakers!! They're awesome!!

Boo for cheap looking aftermarket ones...

Yeah, I don't like the applique look either. I had plans on having it glassed or bondoed onto the stock hood, so it looked like part of the actual hood and not add on if I went that route.

No I wouldnt flame ya unless you tried to put the badges and all on it and pass it off as something it isnt. (a MACH) Just the hood/shaker setup wouldnt be doing that. As Dave mentioned above I would try to go with the FORD stuff rather than the CDC or other aftermarket ones. The ones of those Ive seen all look cheap IMO.

Yeah, exactly what I was gonna say... I'm not trying to clone anything. I hate when I see cars like that. Well thanks for the help and support. I'm gonna search that registry later on when I get some time. Right now I'm getting ready to head to sunken gardens for the night of rock!!

Question

Well... after all other mods have basically been done, I'm looking into this again. I've still been browsin' ebay for cdc, roush, and mach setups as they've gone down slightly in price. I checked the registry a couple weeks ago and nothing available that I saw. Any negatives that haven't been mentioned when having a shaker scoop such as wet weather driving? Also, will the bracketry work with an aftermarket plenum? Thanks again for any info.

EDIT: found this on ebay, don't know if it's salvagable... or is the cutout even the same as the applique kits? eBay Motors: 2003 2004 03 04 FORD MUSTANG MACH 1 HOOD FITS 99 - 04 (item 120289343170 end time Aug-29-08 14:51:59 PDT)

Found this too... eBay Motors: OEM Ford Mustang Mach 1 Shaker Hood *Low Reserve* (item 200246364506 end time Aug-17-08 20:45:11 PDT)

But nothing complete...

And this would be different... eBay Motors: NOS Ford hood tach 69 70 Mustang Boss Mach 1 tachometer (item 200245897881 end time Aug-21-08 00:26:08 PDT)

Well you're missing the important stuff! Is the actual air box that houses the filter the same as the GT's? And the tubing is just different after because of the different T/B? I'm just kinda feeling it out again...

Question

So would an original Mach hood work with a CDC or Roush setup?

EDIT: Well CDC will not work without extensive modification with the mach hood for those that care... I found this...
