Question Shaker hood kits...

Is there any real difference between the CDC kit and the Roush kit for the 99-04 Mustangs other than the name? Thanks for any info.

No theres not any difference, but often ask myself why anyone would want one.
There's a lot more stuff one could do to there car for $800 that would provide way more results in performance.

I'm not lookin' for performance out of it, I've just always liked the looks of cars with shakers, although they don't shake as much. I'm with ya all the way on value though. I'd love to go twin turbo on my car, but since it would take a massive amount of money for me to do that, I've just been lookin' into some minor mods like t/b, plenum, and tune of some sort to keep the car as reliable as possible. The shaker would just be an awesome look that not many others have.

Oh yeah, I'll most likely do the other stuff first. This is just for future reference to know if there is any install difference, or just the name. I don't really have the money to just throw away at it either, otherwise I'd be boltin it on right now and cuttin holes in my car.

the shaker is wicked, it def. adds a much greater look to your car, w/o much performance add.
I think its a nice add to look into.

Trade it for a MACH they came with um. And they do shake mine is more noticable now than when the car was new. And man it is so cool to watch it torque over when you mat the go pedal

Sorry, but I'd rather spend $800, then trade an entire car just to get the same look... just not logical to me. I know it's a Mach 1, but I'm fine with the GT. I know they shake, but I was refering to the cars of yesteryear. Yours probably only shakes more now because of worn motor mounts.

No not worn motor mounts only has 37K on it. Just meant it loosened up as it got some miles, When it was new it barely moved. And you wont get the "same look" you'll still have a GT hood meaning it wont have the extra hump the mach has.

The Mach hood does look awesome, but I think that's what that stupid applique is that comes with the kits. I don't like the look of it. Do you think a factory mach hood would match the dimensions of the hood opening, location, and such? My hood has some nice chips in it, so I wouldn't mind gettin' it repainted with the applique, or just replacing it all together. And to clarify, I'm not lookin' specifically for the Mach look, just the pure shaker look of any vehicle. And YES, FordGT and Beck, the shaker hood is awesome which is why I'm interested in the first place.

Yes a MACH hood would be a direct bolt on. I agree on the sticker in the aftermarket kits. I also want to have my hood stripe Pinted on and made wider.
Check out 2003-2004 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Owner's Club & Registry Website may find a hood in the classifieds.
Just dont put MACH badges on it OK. lol

Good to know on hood fitment. If I wanted to put any fake badges on, it would be the cobra badges, but I'm not stupid... and don't misrepresent. Like I said before, I'm fine with my GT. Nothing on the outside will make it faster anyways, just adds resistance.

Question

Anyone see a Mach 1 hood lately? Or good used GT Hood? I just rear ended an 07' Tundra the other day, so now I actually do need a new hood. Nothing major happened, but a new hood is definitely in order...
