sluggish?????

I just bought a 94 v6..i have replaced the fuel filter and cleaned fuel injectors along with throttle body, replaced spark plugs and wires, repaired a major exhaust leak and added a new distibutor cap. am at a loss as to why it's still so sluggish.check engine light on...tested...they say a sensor or maybe timing belt...any advice guys???

Who ever tested the MIL for you and told you it was a timing belt needs to go back to school a few more years.

What was the code?
Sluggish accel can come from many points. Sure the wires are not crossed, firing order correct, fuel filter in the right direction?
Fuel pressure, vacuum leaks, bad/dirty MAF......

Post up the diagnostic code and we'll try to help you out. The problem being sensed by the ECU is most likely causing your car to run worse than it should.
