Will got a ticket yesterday in the SS for expired registration from a Bexar Co. Sheriff...funny thing is, that's what she pulled him over for. Didn't say a word about the front plate. It went out in December, and his mom hasn't gotten the new sticker yet.

I got my sights set and have ticket book in hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, pretty generalized statement and thread title. I assume you are just irritated with Windcrest and venting, hence I will reserve my opinion of and experiences with the almighty better than thou SAPD.

On a lighter note, I also have never written a ticket for less than 10 mph over in my 17 years of Law Enforcement and generally dont for anything less than 13 over anymore. As a K9 officer, I do make stops for equipment violations and things that are regarded as feather legged when I am "hunting" but cant recall ever actually writing a ticket for one.

I worked court Wed night for the 1st time in years and noticed that a new officer of ours issued a citation for a defective headlight. I went out and checked it for the prosecutor and it was dismissed without fine, but I couldnt beleive a citation was actually written for it. Talked to that officer about it and hopefully it wont be a regular thing with him.

Im sure it can all be worked out with a phone call though. Good Luck.

Selma cops are the worst in my opinion followed closely by Windcrest. One night driving a friend home the 3009 area and this jerk followed me from 35 all the way to their house and stopped waited for them to get out and followed me back all the way out to 35. I guess he thought I was some punk kid bound to make a mistake. He wasn't getting my lunch money.

As we all know, can't judge all of the PO's in small towns (or cities) by the actions of one. Unfortunately that how it ends up anyway, as I always hear, "you cops...blah blah blah...".

Although I do feel for you, as a ticket for 7 over and not in an active school zone is pretty chickensh*t.

My Dad got a ticket in Schertz for speeding. He told the officer that I am a Deputy and my brother is a PO for SAPD. The Schertz officer told him that with 2 sons in law enforcement, he should have known better than to speed.
Not that I expect an officer to let someone off because his kids are cops, but I feel the comment was uncalled for.

I have written citations for as little as 11 over when I was a rookie. I will not write one now until 13 over. I do stop and issue warning citations for equipment violations though.( not a citation )

Sorry to hear bout your wife's luck with Windcrest...... Some people's children.

Just my opinion, but in your post, you are sounding a bit like the rest of the popo haters out there. We all have some bad experiences no matter who we are or what we do, but to generalize like that makes everyone look bad. ( especially when it is another officer doing it)

My mom got a ticket for 32 in a 30. I thought that was pretty ridiculous, but I kinda think 7 over is a fair ticket, depending on the posted speed limit. I mean, if it's 77 in a 70 that's a little extreme, but 37 in a 30 I can understand. If you don't like it, buy a radar detector, it's not the cop's fault you got caught

"Will perceive us"? Hell, they already do. Maybe he was going for the toaster "quota"? Who knows. Latelly I've been hearing about these types of cit's being issued. PM Code3 and ask him about an encounter around here.

At that time of the night, a stop/warning..yes, but a cit...LAME This is coming from a Traffic guy usually writing an average of 20-30 a day.
