I just did my wifes this weekend.

I used the VHT nightshades(got from ebay) with a can of clear from home depot or autozone.

It's 10x better than the overlay's. I have the overlay's on my mach and it doesn't look all that great.

Search ebay for VHT. It's like 16 shipped for 2 can's. The clear is just an acrylic clear to protect the vht from getting scratched.

I attached some pics of the truck back when I first did it. It still looks the same a year later.

The overlay's shrinked a little and you can see the glue from it where it shrank around the outside edge. That and they don't exactly fit perfect. You have to trim them just a tad to make them fit better. I have the taillights and side reflectors and had to trim them both.

If you compare my wifes mach(spray tinted) to my mach(overlays) her's look 100x better.

Just my opinion.

lets just say the clear is for the same reason why you would put a clear coat on a paintjob of a car.

Like 1/2 the can. I used two can's to do my wife's taillight's, 3rd brakelight, side reflectors and headlights on her mustang, the taillights on the truck, my bike's headlights, blinkers and taillight. It goes a long way.

3. Then let dry for a day and wet sanded w/ 1000 grit sandpaper and applied 3 coats of clear.

I need to post pics of my wifes car and do a writeup on it. That was my plan, but have been busy trying to wrap some packages for shipping.
