Could be distrubiter i'm not sure. 67K miles on a 03 v6

Well...really don't know what the exact problem is, BUT it is not the distributor. You don't have one. Have a coil pack.

when accelerating it doesn't really jumps it doesn't seem to have power. The wierd thing is it doesn't happen all the time just after running it hard for awhile then slowing down to make a turn or taking off from a light it will occainally do it. If it was the coilpacks woudln't the service light come on? I'm just kinda at a loss and its ticking me off. Another thing it happend after the car started getting really hot driving home from work. And I fixed the 02 sensor so i have no idea.

After fixing the O2 sensor did you disconnect your + on your battery for 10 minutes to clear the KAM (keep alive memory)? If not you may want to try that. Also did you wire up the O2 sensor right?

Ok. A vaccum leak is a possibility, dirty MAF, and like mentioned above a weak coil pack if you feel it more at a lower RPM. If you set a CEL let me know, I can scan it for you. And I have a coil pack from a latter V6 that may fit your Mustang if you need one.

What about a bad IAC??? I've replaced several on cars for that reason and it works like a charm... Have someone run a scanner on your car (not autozone...) Someone with a snap-on or similar scan tool... even if there isn't a MIL light on, you could be spitting codes... see if that will narrow it down

9 times out of 10 on a Ford if the IAC shows a resistance that it does not like it will set a CEL. Every now and then it will set a pending code and sometimes it will store it but not set the CEL. IF the CEL has come on and went right back off while the car is running it set a code then. I can bring my scanner out Friday if I dont forget and see if it shows any pending codes.

What now?

ok so i went to advance auto and had them scan it yesterday. Like it read at work i had a misfire in 6 but what it didn't read at work was a P1285 manfacurer contrl. Fuel Air Metering, i have no idea what that was. So anyway last night i bought new plugs and wires and drove it and it was still doing it so today i went back to Advanced Auto and scanned it again and got a P0316 Misfire Detected 1st 1000 Revs and still a misfire in 6. So what next? Coil pack? I have yet to break out my dads compression ckr. the thing is also it didn't pick up the fuel air metering

Manfacurer contrl. Fuel Air Metering is an emissions code that I have no answer for. I see them a lot and just clear the code and let them go. You might want to try a coil pack from a buddies car and see what happens. If all that dosent fix anything you may suspect a weak #6 injector and do the compression check.

134 PSI per cylinder and there should be no more than a 10% difference between the lowest and highest readings. 101 PSI is a minumum accepted compression for a 3.8L.
