ill do that. iv just seem that MOST companies have a staged grind.. but i dont really understand what the numbers mean exactly..so i cant tell which one is the better of the cams.

hot cam.... non pi comp xe274s
![]() but seriously, go with stage 2s and do the valve springs. pick up the 25 rwhp and call it a day. I think they even gained 23 rwhp on a stock as a rock gt

What he said. And the install is not that bad. I installed my VT stage 2 cams and Comp springs in my driveway. You’ll need the OTC 7928 Valve spring compressor. I bought one for my install and it was well worth it.

also.. i just took a look at the hitech site and those look like some great gains with just lts and stage 1s... i have full bolt-ons so i hope i would see around those numbers, maybe even poke into the 290s? with a higher reving cam(every site iv seen puts stage ones around 2500-6000rpm) would a lower intake be worth the money? Stage 1s still require a tune. As for the original thread topic. Cushman is great, but just about any out of the box grind from Crower or Comp Cam will put down similar numbers if not the same numbers.

so pretty much all the stage 1 grinds are gonna be the same? i looked up those hitech grinds and they look to be pretty shweeet. 270 to the wheels on a gt with just lts and cams... not bad ![]() heres one thing i dont understand.. what are the differences between the CM and the hitech? like what do the numbers mean Specs: 230/224 duration, 112 lobe sep, .550/.500 lift (hitech) CM:540/550 lift, 224/226 .050" duration, 110 LSA Last edited by H0SS302; 07-21-2008 at 07:37 PM. |

would those work on a 01 gt with no PTV issues? cuz that seems like a high lift...not trying to thread jack...sorry if i am

ive been reading alot about cams so ill give this a shot, i think the hitechs will be better performing...because the intake lift is higher and longer and obviously the more air the better....where as the CMs intake lift is shorter then the hitechs...BUT the exhaust lift on the hitechs are shorter then the CM...now both are SLIGHT difference from each other...what i dont know is does a slight difference make a BIG difference and i also im not sure about the lobe seperation angles and what they mean... but im still researching so ill be interested to see some other info on these numbers as well
