UPDATE

Stampede '06 has been canceled.

Due to several factors (lack of interest, high gas prices, bad weather forcast for the weekend) we have decided to cancel this year's Stampede.

Pack your bags and get ready to have a great time with old friends and new!!

When: August 4, 2006 through August 6, 2006
Where: Corpus Christi, TX
What: Beach, Go Karts, Food, Friends

This event happens every year at this time, and we always have a great time!!

OUR PLANS:

Friday:

Cruise to the coast, check with your local members to see if there is a cruise to join in on.

Arrive and do your own thing.

Saturday:

Beach around noon until 4 pm.

Cruise.

Back to hotels for clean up.

Dinner at 7 pm as a group.

Family Fun at Funtrackers (I think that is the name of it).

Sunday:

Breakfast at 11 am.

Cruise home.

The accommodations will be at the La Quinta North. We have stayed there several times before. They are a good price, and conveniently located to all of the activities we will be doing. The price I found on the internet was $75.00 a night on hotels.com, or $82.00 a night on the La Quinta website. It is best if you pair up with some friends or other couples in order to save money. I wouls also recommend calling a making reservations as soon as possible to be sure a room is available.

This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY event!! If you have children, or are under age, everything we do will be safe for everyone of any age.

As for what to bring, the travel essentials, as well as beach towels, sunscreen, beach ball, football, coolers, sunglasses, chairs for the beach, a bathing suit might help too!!

We will be having a picnic on the beach on Saturday. Everyone will have the opportunity to buy in on the food, chips, cookies, and drinks provided. A few LSSers will do the shopping earlier on Saturday morning so we can get through the store faster, and to the beach quicker!!

Otherwise, bring some cash for gas, dinner on friday (on your way in the car or in CC), breakfast on saturday (on your own), car charge for the beach (usually $5 a car), picnic at the beach, dinner on saturday (Chili's price range), Funtrackers, and breakfast on Sunday morning (probably Denny's or equivalent).

I booked our room last night on laquinta.com, and it was only $75.00 a night. You just need a credit card to reserve the room, they won't charge you until you show up though.

We usually head out around lunch/afternoon time. But it just depends on everyones work schedules. We don't know what Jeff will be working yet, so we can't make any plans until later in the month.
