Still problem with the Diablo Chip

I finally got the car to start with the chip, but the car is running rough. It spudders and black smoke comes out the tail pipes. I thought I had a bad MAF sensor, but nope I bought a new one and still same problem. I adjusted fuel pressure, still same problem. With the fuel pump, you can hear it pressurize, but the sound doesn't stop like normal when you turn the key. When I pull the chip everything runs fine. I would call the place that did my custom chip but they work the same hours as I do.

Sounds like the fuel to air mixture tables are screwed up. Almost sounds like the injectors are continuosly feeding fuel instead of pulsing.

Was the chip dyno tuned to your car?

You might want to verify the chip is the right one for your year model too.

The chip had a bad program burn on it. Tom Dugan is having me resend the chip and he is paying me $20 to ship it.

mail order tunes are almost NEVER a good idea..

i have done at least 25 03 up cobras with pulley upgrades etc but i still refuse to mail order a tune to anyone.

you simply just can not gaurentee how the car will respond.
and with mail order tunes any weekenes int eh vechidle < bad fuel pump cloged injectors or filter > could easily kill the customers motor and the chip would instantly be blamed and by default your shop blamed.

a real dyno tune is truely the only way to go for best power reliability and driveability
