Stolen Land Rover

I had planned on coming to Fort Worth for routine service on the Freelander today anyway, but not like this:

Today sucks.

Yesterday I get my Freelander back from having alignment done since the lift kit was installed.

When I picked it up, the Freelander basically had a stroke. All check engines lights came on, a cooling fan shorted out making it to where it could not be driven.

I call Land Rover roadside assistance and they arranged for a towing company to pick it up and take it to Fort Worth. It took two hours for the tow truck to arrive. I was thinking an hour would have been appropriate but two hours is bad.

If the tow truck driver had left Midland by the time he picked up the Freelander, he could have made it to Fort Worth before they closed on Friday.

Friday night, we arrive in Fort Worth in Dad's LR3. Drive by Land Rover Fort Worth dealership and the Freelander is not there. I'm not happy.

Saturday morning, I wake up thinking it should be in Fort Worth around 10:00am. It's almost 10pm and I'm gonna drive back by there to see if it's there. We've spoke to Land Rover Roadside Assistance and they told the towing company if it was not there by 8:00pm it would be reported stolen. I was there from 7:50 - 8:30. It should be reported stolen by now.

Not really. It boils down to the dispatcher from the tow truck company lying to Land Rover Roadside assistance and lying to me. I'm in Fort Worth right now and waited at the dealership for it to arrive in my dad's car. I'm not happy. There is so much I could have done tonight. Gone to Cabela's and bought a gun. Gone to Billy Bob's Texas... but I spent it at the dealership and now I'm to stressed out and tired to party.

We've been dealing with this company since they gave us hell picking it up yesterday in Midland.

Turns out the dispatcher was lying to me, to her truck driver, and to Land Rover Roadside Assistance. Last time I talked to her was about ten minutes before the Freelander got there. The driver had just as bad a day as we did. Not his fault at all.

The dispatcher was extremely belligerent to me and to Land Rover. After she hung up on me I called back and left a voicemail suggesting her company find a good lawyer. I'm sure Land Rover's tems of lawyers in New Jersey can put the fear of God into her without even going to court. I sincerely hope Land Rover does NOT pay them.
