And second...that's exactly our point. Do it right the first time, so you don't have to do it a second time. No one here has said to do it twice, everyone said do it right the first time.

+1

Everyone is getting too defensive over this. I dont care what anyone does with their car, its their business to be honest, and its their ship so sink. All I can do is give the advice as best I can to do it right the first time just like the advice was given to me when I went through this.

your stock stuff is better and will hold up longer than some cheap monroes.

when you lower the car, it is compressed too low and the piston doesnt have as far to travel. It is more cpomplex than that, but many lowering springs will blow out your stock struts
Hmmm, funny this is then, cuz I just so happen to STILL have the factory installed struts on my car with Motorcraft shocks on the rear (replaced like 6 years ago) with ny car being lowered 2 inches and I hammer the shit out of my car and have YET to blow my STOCK front struts that now have 192k miles on them. Guess I got a good good set or my car was built with Tuesday parts.

I suggested the Monroe as a cheap alternative, the OP is already looking for bargain deals along with cheap labor, just replacing the stock units would suffice.
