I am trying to find a shop that will do a suspension kit and alignment for my car (2004 GT) here in San Antonio. The kit will lower my ride about 1.6" rear - 1.75" front. The install seems ok, the reason i'm not doing it myself is because of the alignment with the caster camber plates and bumpsteer. I also wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything from the list of parts:
H&R Sport Springs (96-04) Steeda Aluminum 4-Bolt Caster Camber plates KYB AGX Sport Adjustable Strut (94-04) KYB AGX Sport Adjustable Shock (94-04) Steeda Bumpsteer Kit Steeda X-2 Ball Joint Kit This lowering kit stuff is relatively new to me so any input on the kit or shops is greatly appreciated ![]() -Daniel |

Will do.
I think the H&R kit might lower it too much, I might also go with the Eibach Pro Kit Spring Set (79-04 V8 Coupe & 94-04 V6 Convertible) -Daniel |

All that stuff is pretty easy to do with normal hand tools. If you've never done it before, it just takes some time because you will have to read the directions. When I did all that for the first time, it took me about 8-10 hours. Now, I think I can knock it out in about 2-3. It's pretty fun if you like messing with things and have all the tools at home already.

Yeah I could install it myself...and then I have a parked car w/o alignment, i'd have to get it towed to a shop anyway. I need to find a shop to do it so they can adjust the caster/camber plates and bumpsteer during the alignment. I have the tools to do the install, I definitely don't have the tools (or the knowhow) to read the alignment
I was wondering if PSI performance does this stuff, but their info e-mail address is invalid -Daniel |

I hear ya....but if you align it right after the install, you may have to align it again in a couple of weeks anyways. Some people need it, some don't. It all depends on if your suspension "settles." So I usually just do the install and wait for the alignment. I don't know if there is lifetime alignment in TX shops, but if you can find a shop that offers it (even on cars with CC plates and with customers who want custom settings) it may be worth buying that.

That would be awesome! I think I have found the parts I want, lowering the car to a total of 1.75" front and 1.6" rear. I received your PM as well, although the drop kit is not lower than 2" it is close so I am still undecided about the bumpsteer kit. If I don't get the bumpsteer kit would I still need to get it aligned? Would I even need the caster camber plates, or the X-2 ball joints for that matter? Basically I'm trying to narrow it down to what I need besides the springs, shocks, and struts. Thanks again for all of the responses! -Daniel |

You will still need it aligned with or without the bumpsteer. You are replacing the CC plates, that's what needs to be adjusted. I would recommend the bumpsteer. I initially dropped my car about an inch without and got pulled all over the road. I now have about a 2" drop but with the bumpsteer it pulls on uneven surfaces less than it did stock. I didn't do ball joints, nor were they recommended by anyone I know. Oh yeah, and the sig is pre-drop ![]()
