T5 question

My tranny looks like it is leaking from the tailshaft. I replaced the rear transmission seal about a month ago but the tranny is still leaking. I'm not real sure what it could be now. I've heard it may be a tailshaft bushing but i'm not sure. Is this possible? How is this fixed? Is it something that I can do at home?

Yeah the tail shaft bushing is probably wiped out as well . You will either need a special tool to remove it and replace it while in the car or the unit will have to be removed and the tail shaft will need to come off .

While you have the trans out of the car have someone check the end play of the imput and output shafts. Too much end play will allow the output shaft to move up and down. Also make sure the slip yoke is not worn or does not have any grooves in it. A drive shaft that is bent, bad u joints or just a driveshaft that is out of ballance can cause a leak at higher speeds and cause the tail shaft bushing to wear.
