taillight removal, bulb change

dude my Mustang wont shift out of park and it is driving me crazy, the brake lights are out but changing them is a pain in the ass, there are several bolts,(thought I got them all but something is still holding them in) and I dont know if that is the reason my Stang will not shift out of park in to reverse or drive, like it is stuck im pissed

Likely the Brake switch, seems odd that all your bulbs would burn out at once and need to be replaced.

bulbs are a wear and tear item, which would NOT be covered under warranty

1st no need to remove the eaillights to swap bulbs just twist the holder out swap bulb reinstall holder.
Second it sounds like the release button is broken in your shifter. The one you press in to switch it from P to D. It is a simple repair to do just have to tear in to the shifter

update,it was just a freakin wire loose that was not engaging the car to shift from park, the brake lights were not out but the wire had to do with the brake lights not working, guess it was a defense mechanism from Ford

I guess you could loosely call it a defense mechanism. It's actually a lockout that releases the shift level only when you have your foot on the brake. This is so that it can't go into gear by accident and have it roll away.

actually the car is an auto but yeah I would press the brakes and would try and shift the car out of park and that motherf..... shifter would not budge, but luckily it was a minor thing
