Tell me About Saleens....

Tell me about them Saleens. For a while now i've been in love w/ the Ford Mustang Saleen, and have a few questions. Like in example; Why do some come equip't w/ the superchargers and some dont. From my understanding the s281's come w/ the 4.6 engine's and i think, dont quote me but the s351's come w/ the 5.6, is that correct? Just tell me a lil' bout'em since i might be considering it on a future mustang purchase and just because i love the way they look and everybody seems to want/have a "cobra" and i just want something diffrent.
-thanks, adriaN

yeah, saleens are nice. 4.6L =281cubic inches=s281
s281sc=supercharged 4.6L, they're all based on gt engines though, so have either a 2v (up to 2004) or a 3v engine. my question has always been, do they do any internal work to the engine? i dont think they do, so an s281sc is just that, a blown gt with some suspension/body mods. now if someone tells me different and they build the motors and then blow them, well then i think i'd be onboard the saleen loving train.

nothing internal on the 4.6 is different, but i believe they have a freer flowing intake, diff exh, and a different tune from the GT.

the number in the saleen badge is the engine size: 4.6L=281 CID, 5.8L=351 CID.

s281 is N/A, sc281 is blown. kinda like the difference between stage 2 and stage 3 roushes.

03-04 cobra's do just fine.
Turbo makes mo powah! on anything, no matter how you look at it, 2v, 4v, windsor, tractor's, heavy equipment etc..

i test drove a 2001 s281 sc the day before i bought the roush. not to hate on saleen, but it was a fucking terd. it was in the 90's outside and it could barely even hit 5psi. i also noticed when i looked under it the ground effects on the back were held on with zip ties! saleens cost waaaay too much to be putting shit together with zip ties. imo
