I know the president personally and have met some of the members and they are a good bunch. I think that like any club....there are bad apples of the bunch, but I've yet to meet any from TAMSCC. They know how to run a kick arse auto-x and do the corner working for a lot of the TWS events.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.....obviously you have NEVER been up to TWS during an event. Last year when SCMC had our event out there there were 6 or so fox-Mustangs ripping up the course.

How about we do this... You vs. me in the swisties? Will that solve your problems. If it doesn't... let me remind you of something.

I drive a truck!

but its probably alot easier to make it fast than to make it handle well. 300ft-lbs of torque stock makes for a good way to lose traction in a road course.

besides, id rather pack a crap load of horses under my hood.

but my question still remains.... do they respect dragers?

let me remind you of something.. i have no suspension mods, and a light ass rearend, which mustangs are notorious for breaking traction too often... and bald tires. :woot:

I think they have the mentality of most sports car clubs... sports cars = road courses... muscle cars = drag racing

everyone I met respected drag cars... tons of modification stuff is the same on drag and autox/road racing

and at events they use pax times... which are adjusted times depending on the class you are running in...

it's about going out there and having fun... as long as you're doing that they are cool... if you come out with the mentality that your car is going to stomp on everyone then they probably won't like you so much...

Probably would be a good idea.

I can tell most of you this.......going 90mph through turns at an open track like TWS and then having to wave by a Miata really puts you in your place. Any "yahoo" with 500rwhp can go down a drag strip, but let's see how he can handle that 500rwhp through some turns.

can go down the drag strip yes, but it takes skill to actually make that car run what its supposed to run, time wise. its more difficult than you think. have you ever been to the strip?

... hence the questioning. anyone who has been to the track knows that it is harder than it appears, and takes practice.
