Well thanks to everyone for helping me with the beer thread. So now I would like to offer my help. I know about Tequilas, and I would love to learn what everyone knows of cognacs, whiskeys, vodkas, etc.

First off basic knowledge about tequila, it is basically the juice of the Blue Agave Plant, also known as the Maguey.
Blanco- Distilled 2 to 3 times
Reposado- distilled but stored in oak barrels for 6 to 18 months.
Añejo- Same as above but stored for 18 months to 7 years.


To skip the history lesson, agave and tequila come the same plant but are processed differently and Tequila can only be made in the state of Jalisco in Mexico, no one else in the world can make it.


As far as Blancos go, go with a sauza if you can find it, or Patron if you wanna "Look" like a baller.

Reposado go with Casadores

Añejo Id recommend Centenario, Casadores, or 1800.

my favorite mix drinks has to be red bull vodka, also a jolly rancher which is pucker, vodka, and redbull, and lemon drops are badass too

You guys should try Svedka Vodka... it's a Swedish vodka. I love it... it goes down great and taste pretty good and after a few it'll make the room spin...

I like rums the best Crown and coke is good and I like Petron, tequila some times,and malibu cocunut or banna is good. I also want to say dont mix beer,yager mister red bull and potato vodka you wont make it dont ask.

haha i mixed jaeger with SoCo and dr pepper once.. but it actually wasnt that bad!
+1 on crown and coke, and coconut malibu.
also like: skyy and grey goose vodka. whalers vanilla rum (goes good with coke, big red, or orange soda). disaronno amaretto. Southern Comfort on occasion- not as smooth as i prefer. seagrams seven.

I was experimenting the other night and mixed SoCo and Coke w/ Lime...VERY good, sweet and smooth.

Red Bull and Absolut, always a good choice. Alternating Jagerbombs and Beer is NOT a good choice...yak attack

i love me some capt. morgan and capt. morgan tattoo... i'm in a rum phase. i can just sit and drink a warm fifth now like it's cool. ohk, and the captain assisted me in getting drunk on rum while riding disneyland's pirates of the carribean ride. i felt quite festive. mark that off my Things To Do In Life list.

when i was in a tequila phase i drank 1800 resposado, jose, patron silver, and sauza. patron is kinda pricey and tastes too non-tequila for me... i like 1800 rep. better.

mccormack's is the worst vodka ever. i get sick just thinking about that plastic bottled heresy. however vodkas are good mixing drinks, so some absolut or grey goose with anything tastes good...

gotta agree. vanilla whalers or SoCo FTMFW!

and another liquor tip - buy it at costco. thats the cheapest place in town to buy liquor and you dont have to be a costco member.

Crown reserve is my every day whiskey. Only mixed with ice. It's smooth enough to not need water, and anything else ruins it. They have a limited Cask #16 edition (in a black box) that is really good. It is aged in oak cognac casks. It's about $90 a bottle though. The XR was good too. Unfortunately, it is pretty cost prohibitive at around $150 a bottle.

Markers mark is a good bourbon that's not too expensive. Goes down smooth with some ice and a little water. Again, anything else (soda for example) just ruins the taste. if there is no crown reserve available, I'll shoot for some makers mark.

For tequilla, I am limited in which ones I can drink. Anything Quervo is out. Sauza Commorativo is probably my favorite tequilla, followed by Cazadores. Patron, in my opinion, is a waste of money. You are paying for a popular name. I'm not into tequilla shots, I tend to only drink it if I am having a margarita.

cheapest place to buy liqor in town is the class six by far. also its open 24 hours 7 days a week even holidays. but you have to be military. they also have weeky specials. last week i picked up a 1.75L of crown for 22.99. normally its over 35 bucks.
