If someone is being a cockgobbler like this guy and decides to make an ILLEGAL pass on the shoulder then he can also try to avoid me. I have absolutely NO respect for people that ride like that in traffic and have no real sympathy when they get hurt.

ok but you guys have no idea why he was trying to pass. maybe he had got a call from him wife telling him his child just got hurt or sick.......either way if hes on your ass just move over to the next lane when ever you can do it safely. Oh it wouldn't have been a problem if say he was going 80 or so and kept a distance. I would have been more than happy to move over. This guy FLEW up behind me and was inches from the rear left corner of my bumper. Even then I was like EH....but it was when he gave me the little move over sign and the semi was next to me was when I was like EHHHH no...

How is a bike putting your life in danger, you crash your protected by a car, he crashes its s.o.l for him. a bike brakes ALOT faster then a car so a weiveing bike is less likely to get into an accident compared to a car.

yeah you should if just done your best to get out of that guys way, he might have been driving crazy and he definitely had no right slapping your mirror, but if you have a cell get on it and report the situation to the police, I understand he frustrated you too,but what can ya do

I just had an incident on the way back from getting my car at a friends house.

1604 headed to Culebra from Bandera. The last light before the Culebra exit.
Sitting there, red light, and there's 3 guys on bikes. One's a sport bike, the other 2 are smaller heavy bikes. All have obnoxious-loud exhaust. I'm in the left lane, they're in the right lane, grouped together, just behind me near my right rear quarter.

Light goes green, I put it in first, and start to go. Jackass 1 gets on it and gets right next to me, Jackass 2 gets behind me like he's in a hurry. Jackass 3 is litterally in my lane, but next to my gas door. His headlight is right in my side mirror, almost blinding me.
We get up to speed and Jackass 1 gets behind me and rides my ass with Jackass 2.

My exit is coming up, so I put my blinker on and wait for a chance to get over. Jackass 3 doesn't see my blinker for a good 10 seconds or so before he slows down to get behind me. Before I can get 1/2 way into the right lane to exit, these 3 ass-clowns down-shift and blow by me almost making me go deaf.

Honestly, wtf is the point in driving like that? Are these guys' dicks really THAT small, that they have to act like they're the coolest kids on the block and drive like morons?

I wish I had a bucket of water baloons or something to throw at them.

i get asshole ricers with galants, stratus', neons (and i mean plymouth neons) that try to fuck wiht me all the time. still isnt smart to try to stop them from passing or do anything to escalate the cituation. same thing with a biker.

To the OP: If someone is driving erratically like that, then they can find another erratic way to get around. I mean, if I'm doing 80 in the fast lane which is already illegal and they wanna fly up on you, then that's their problem. They can wait until whomever is in front of them can safely move over, not force them to break more laws and possibly move into another lane where another danger may lurk (i.e. car or ANOTHER BIKE they don't have time to see because WHOMEVER is riding their ass so hard). Many of you brought up well what if it was an emergency? Well if they're not in an emergency vehicle, then there is no cause to move over. If their kid is sick somewhere, that's what the ambulance is for. Chips himself just witnessed an accident a few weeks ago because of some biker being stupid and weaving in and out of traffic. I'm not saying force them off the road, although I feel like it sometimes too. If they wanna be stupid, let them... they'll learn soon enough what happens when they think they're invincible. And a weaving bike is a lot MORE likely to have an accident because they have far less stability then a 4 wheeled vehicle when trying to correct an incorrect maneuver (contrary to what some seem to think). This was just a can't win situation.

Some people can call it how they want it, but the "slower traffic keep right" does not mean the it is legal to speed in left lane. If I'm in the left lane driving 70, and you are in that big of a hurry that you feel the need to ride my bumper, you had better be quick on the brake, because you WILL get brake checked. If there is someone in the lane next to me and I cant get past them, you can wait until I do get past them, or you can go around both of us. If you continue to ride my bumper, I will make it a point to slow down and maintain pace with the car next to me just so you cant get by. Just because you are in a hurry does not mean that you control the speed on the freeway, and everyone in your way needs to put themselves in danger by speeding up to whatever nascar speed you feel you need to drive. As long as I'm not driving less than the speed limit, I will drive in whatever lane I feel I need to (usually not the left lane, but sometimes it is necessary), and if you dont like the speed at which I am driving, go around. The only people I will make a point of getting over to let them by are emergency vehicles, whether their lights are on or not.

That being said, there was no need to try to squeeze in on him when he tried to pass you on the shoulder. If he's in that big of a hurry, and he thinks he can get around you on the shoulder, let him.

Thank you...even in "drivers training" they say if someone is on your bumper to remove your foot from the gas pedal and slow down to encourage him to pass. I'm not going to speed even more just to make him happy. I do know how to drive but I'm sure we are all guilty of not doing exactly what we're suppose to do all the time. I dont go around and try to pick off bad bikers. We'd be rid of about 5 of them this week if I did.

And I'm sure there are those stories about bikes and stupid drivers in cars. I'm not saying all bikers are bad.

next time your on the hwy and they do it, throw a handfull of change at em! haha quarters can do quite a bit of damage at 80 mph! haha! i've seen it personally .
