This just in.....

Houston just so happened to make the cover and get a few pages of media coverage in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords August issue in a full feature spread titled:
Special Reports: Street Racing Houston
Different city, same story- Illegal street racing thrives.

ON THE COVER: Greg Jarem did his second favorite thing for this cover- he photographed street racing at night. MM&FF's own Steve Baur snagged the launch shot of Justin Burcham's '05 Mustang knocking down the 10-second e.t. barrier.

I picked up the mag last night at Kroger to give it a quick and they actually mentioned that they came out and were out and about in town on a Wednesday night.
They mentioned being at a meet at a Walmart among various other spots.

I may be in limited company but I'd rather not be in a magazine article that is condoning street racing. Having an LSS plug or sticker shown in a street racing article would just be bad news IMHO. Publicity is good but not when our stance is anti-street racing. :jeff:

You should read it first. Here's the FIRST TWO paragraphs of the article.

---- One year ago, MM&FF's August issue hit the newsstands with one of the most controversial stories we've ever published. "New York City Street Racing". Within days, letters and phone calls flooded MM&FF Command Central. We goit cheers and boos. We were even "damned to hell," for what was called promoting and glamorizing street racing.

We will preface this story with this warning: Street Racing is illegal. We do not condone it. But it happens, and it is way beyond our control, so don't kill the messenger. You can get arrested for doing it, but that pales in comparisonto the possible injury and death that can come out of a street race gone wrong. -----

So, with that I don't see anything wrong with them covering this stuff. And soi what if an LSS sticker just might have popped up and been seen.

Just my .02

they coulda chosen not to publish it. there's plenty of legal, race-track races to cover. if the features cars did both street and track, they coulda only covered the track portion. they chose to cover it so they: 1, bring in revenue; 2. take the chance on bad publicity.

note: not to say your view is right/wrong. that's the way I see it.
