thought for today...

So me being a guy and knowing a little about cars i stopp every so often when i see someone on the side of the road, but sometimes i dont, mainly cause the situation just doesnt seem to fit together right... for instance today, is a nice day (for texas summer) sunny partly cloudy highs in the 90's with a breeze. i turn onto a side road leaving my apt. an there is a late 90's chrysler sitting on the side of the road. this road has pretty good traffic, and as i approch the guy is sitting there with a gas can sitting on the trunk.. so im ok he ran out of gas and is waiting for someone. then he sees me.. out of all the other cars that just pass and starts to try to flag me down.. at this point im just like ok this is weird, he has a gas can, the gas station is less than 1 mile away and he lets all these cars go by then all the sudden hes flaggin me... so i kept goin... im sorry but if i had a gas can and the gas station is right up the road i would start walking unless i had called someone to bring me some. it just didnt stomach right.

what would you have done?

The same thing unless it was a car full of girls.:2thumbup: You did the right thing, you can not trust people any more. You would be amazed who will stab you in the back, even someone who needs help.

i once passed by one of my own friends walking on the road.

i was on the access road heading to work, doing about 50mph when i saw him walking on the shoulder. i smiled and waved at him, like it was no big deal.... then i began to wonder why the hell he was walking on the side of the road!

then about a mile or so down the road i see his car with a flat tire. turned out that the night before, someone tried breaking into his trunk for his subs and broke the lock. and it didn't have remote from the inside to pop it... so he couldn't get to the spare :emb:

but... i was already running late for work, so i said f*ck it, and kept driving.

i caught hell for it the next day at school

werd.. thats why i dont feel bad, now if he was walking with the gas can and not paying attention to me it probably wouldve been a different story, you have to show initiative
... or as mention a car full of hot chicks lol

You probably did the right thing, although if I was in his situation, I would have been walking my happy ass to the gas station and not waited on anyone else, but then again, I wouldn't let myself run out of gas.

Which reminds me of a pretty funny story, a few years back when my husband was driving his '85 SVO, he broke down on the side of the highway. I was going home from work and I passed right by him and didn't even see him. I caught hell for that for a long time and still do every once in awhile.

it wasnt like he was unable or looked like he was in unhealthy shape..lol personally i wouldve been walking already , i mean chances are youll sweat more sitting there before someone stops than you would if yo uwalked.. now if i saw someone not trying to get anyones attention walking with a gas can and i knew the area i would probably help them out. just casue they are making the effort. and not trying to get someone to help.. just cause that seems ginuwine

one of the reasons i kept going... just that gut feeling and things didnt click together right.
