only thing id ever put glasspacks on is an old pickup. the thrush muffs didnt sound bad, but.... personally, id do a GT takeoff with flows welded in. that, installed can be done under $150 (flowtubes, welded in mufflers to tail pipes and installed) if you wait for a deal.

Both of those sounded horrible. Glasspacks do not sound good with a small motor; use a chambered type muffler.

PLEASE for the love of god do not put glasspacks on a mustang. do it right, or at least more right than a glass pack. If you dont want to get the gt bumper get dumps, but hes right, get a chambered muffler, straight thru mufflers sound terrible, and get a crossover pipe, H-pipe give a deeper tone, im doing an h pipe and dual super 44 dumps on mine
2000 Mustang 3.8, Super 44 dump, Mach 1 rims, Ziex tires, Blacked out Tails, Shorty Antenna, Mach 1 chin spoiler, CAI, Pioneer Premier Head Unit, H&R SS springs, MM c/c plates, KYB GR-2 shocks and struts. Soon to come - 42% Motoblue Underdrive pulleys, Sniper Tune, thinkin about a turbo....

like said before, the best sound out of a v6 is an off road h-pipe and chambered mufflers. ive heard several done, and they dont sound great, but not bad for a v6.

Fixed. Straight through mufflers sound tits on a V8.

I like x and magnaflows because they will not be raspy at all. It will sound more like a g35/350z

a v6 will never be a v8 so no reason to try to get an exhaust that "sounds" like on at certain rpms.

why would you want to make a mustang sound like a G, thats 2 completely different worlds, you tube flowmasters with an h pipe, sounds decent, not great and definitly not v8 loud, but has nice tone

Not raspy? That's almost the most raspy combo possible...

no, it just sounds like a v6 with exhaust. as apposed to trying to mask your v6 ownership with flowmasters.

h pipe and flows, blah, trash trash trash. The pure sound of one driving next to me in traffic wants me to vomit.

what kind of sound do you want? exotic v6? something that is drony and sounds like a v8 at idle but is exposed for what it is at higher rpms.

you have tons of options out there from bassani, borla, dynomax, flowmaster, magnaflow, MAC, spintech, and all the other smaller names

flowmaster= ok-ish, it wont ever sound like a v8 but itll sound ok

as for spintech and mac, ive never heard them on a v6

my opinion after hearing that, id stay where youre at, that sounds pretty good

thanx but right now i know it sounds way better than that vid i posted of my exhaust clip

for the reason is cuz my engine has been bored and heads were ported.... after the bore and ported heads my exhaust got deeper and louder. Ive already had a couple of people ask me if i had a v8 in it (only at idle), i would just tell them.... its a v6 bored 30 over with ported heads and just bolt-ons

ill make another exhaust clip and post it up

The only good sounding exhaust I've heard on a V6 stang was a dual system with super quiet mufflers .

    werd.

i currently have longtubes, x-pipe, and stock GT Mufflers.

I had StainlessWorks Mufflers on it before I put the GT mufflers on there, but they were too loud and raspy at higher rpms. The GT mufflers toned it down enough that it's no longer raspy but still sounds very aggressive.

The second vid is actually a friend of mine. He got GT takeoffs, and put Thrush mufflers on, and just had them cut the Y pipe before it turned into one, and then fabbed up piping to the two ends from the mufflers.

Heres a couple more vids of his car...

    The thrush mufflers are mine.

To be honest, they are Flowmaster 40 series clones. The mufflers sound great in person and while driving. They don't really get ricy untill about 4500RPM if you can call that rice. On idle, they sound just like a V8 and with LT's it gets better. GT take offs can be had for about $50 bucks locally, then the mufflers are $40 each. I love the way they sound. Deep and raspy, I recorded both vids with my cell phone.

GT take offs were just the tail pipes behind the muffler and the tips. You don't need them, especially if you want to dump your exhaust, but it is the cheapest way to go with tips.
