i don't know if the mach1000 is the same, but for my mach460 i got a converter and tapped into the rear speaker wires before they went into the speaker itself. there is a write up on mustangworld about how to do it, but it's not the best way to do it.

werd, the mach 1000 comes with subs already. as i understand, its a real bitch to hook up subs/amp to a mach 460, but i think it does have rca terminals. im not completely sure, though

i never cared much for the stereo, but after about 4 yrs of having my car.. the mach460 started giving out, (paper coned speakers) trust me, the best thing to do---1. would be to tap into the speaker wires in the rear, (the 4x6s in the rear are in a large plastic container- odd shaped speaker box weighs like 30lbs), look for one of the small silver amps- and try and find the + and - wires-- then add rca converters and hook the amp up that way..2. or if you buy another head unit, it should have RCA sub outs..

it does have output but the mach isn't designed for aftermarket stereo equiptment like that.

if the mach 1000 has rca outs, perfect- it doesnt matter how many watts you get from the head unit. all you need is stereo signal, once the rcas plug into the amp- the amp will regulate the amount of watts sent to the subs, as it was designed to do..
