I got Kumhos on the Mark VIII and love them. Great traction, quiet and long lasting. Discount Tire had them for under $100 each. :jeff:

Yeah. A MkVII is a Lincoln dude. The tires are Kuhmos. I have those on the back of my stang and have put up with some good abuse and actually almost hook up sometimes.

kumhos....... you obviously never had those on your car..... they hook really good... but you will replace those tires within two months if you race..... you do one little burnout and you have rubber all over your bumper like no other.... have never seen a tire shred as much as the kumho's do (Supra 712 or 711's I believe I had).

If you do burn-outs a lot.... go with BF Goodrich, those take a beating pretty good, and the nitto 555's will last you some time (from what I hear/nitto 555's)... but not as much as the BF Goodrich

Long story short, Kumho's suck... the Supra Ecsta 712's at least. Just get some Yokohama's ES100's. Cheap, yet effective.

I've used the Nitto 555's on two of my cars (dragradials in the back) I got about 20k out of them (street&track use) with good wet traction, as good as you get in a stang.
About 2 months ago i got to go a ride and drive w/yokahama. We got to drive the crap out of some new mustangs on a road race course behind the SBC center. The next set of tires i'm going to buy are the ES100 those things hook when they get warm (good street tire).

I had a pair of nitto555Rs on the back of my stang and they only lasted a month. But racing alot will do that. They stick relly nice when you heat em up. I hear that they last longer than the BFG drag radial.

Dont go with the Phantom ZRX, you'll never hook up and never go pep boys, i could hook up driving calmly!

Right now i have BFG KDWS and they are actually badaass. They hook up alright if you dont launch the car, and they are awesome in the rain. Heat em up a lil and they suprisingly get sticky, sticky enough to throw rocks at the track :woot: but nothing close to a nitto tire. Do your research and good luck.
