2) The son of the owner of JBA is now a member of the Sports Car Club at A&M - hence the "deal"

3) Cams next summer - when I can get springs and tune etc.

...Not as good a deal as I'd hoped. List price is $794, he quoted me at $525. It's high, but not that much higher than the BBK I'd been looking at. I asked for a quote on the headers + x-pipe, and we'll go from there.

then you should definitely do cams then. you will regret it once you put your car back together. it will also be cheaper.
your car would be the poo with some cams, and your mods after that will produce more gains. I can get you a set that will make more power than the VT stage ones with less lope. DO THE CAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. Okay, I've consulted with Crew Chief Senior (AKA Joe Lynch), and here's the deal. $500 is one week's pay at Peterbilt next summer. I plan on camming it NEXT SUMMER. That way I can fully plan this out and be able to financially handle whatever else will need replacement at that point. Remember, this car has 96,000 miles! I bet it has some tired parts.

And hey, maybe by then Crew Chief Senior and I will be installing some turbo cams

For now, we're stripping the threads off the bolt on the front side of the crack so the stress will be on the threads inside the cover and not on the wrong side of the crack. JBWeld may be involved.

I still need to find out if an '02 cover would work...the tensioner is the same, so it should work, but you never know...PM me a price on that if you would please!

If the 02 is differrent I just saw one on ebay from an 01, not mine, just came across it.

you will need a tubro first before you can get the cams
