tire pressure????

Ok im runnin 265/35-18 sumi's on the front. My sides are wearing due to underinflation. I had them at 32psi, since i was told so by Discount tire. I read on the sidewall max 51psi!!! So am i supposed to run like 45?? I have it set at 40now, to try to even out my wear pattern. Any suggestions. thanx

32-35's usually safe; the sidewall max is just that, a MAX. Hypermilers (guys that chase crazy MPG numbers) like to run it up at the max or above. For you, step it up to 35 and then 40 if it's both the inside and outside edges wearing; otherwise maybe look into an alignment as you may have a camber or toe issue. I've never seen an independent suspension setup, though, that didn't produce uneven tire wear. I myself run 35 in my '67 and ran 40 in my SVT Focus.

Yeah at 40 it feels good. Ima stay at that and see if my patterns evens out. Thanx for the input.

its most likely your sportlines and the nature of your driving. The stock suspension geometry gets fubard with a 2 inch drop

I was thinkin about that.... but the wear pattern is even on both sides. Im pretty sure its an underinflation issue. Ill just see how it goes with the 40 psi.

35-40 is what i run.

i run 35 in mine, but i have a decent siewall size... in every car i've had with lower profile tires, i bump up the tire pressure a little... in your case, i'd stay at the forty...

I'd try about 35-40. It's def a underinflation issue .
