Tire Pressure for street tires

Trying to get JMG's Mach-1 to run got me wondering what is the best tire pressure for street tires. We went as low as 20 without any noticable improvement. In fact we ran our best run at full street pressure. Did we just not lower them enough to see good results or do street tires just run better at the pressure their designed for?

I had a couple guys tell me that it would help. We tried it and it didn't help our times at all. My question in the first post was did we not drop it enough or did we get bad advice. I'm inclined to think that street tires don't need low pressure. Just looking for more opinions.

I've lowered mine down to 24 psi and did manage to get a best 60 ft of 2.06.
