how wide can you go on 17x9 rims? right now i have 245/45/17

i wouldnt go any larger than 275 or 285.

Are you putting them on the ones in your sig/avatar? or do you have different rims? If it's for the ones in your sig, I believe those are 17x8. Then 275 would be the largest I would go with.
