I had kuhmo ecsta asx. they were ok on dry but in the rain I always felt them to lose grip pretty easy. The ride was a little harsh also.

I now have Hankook ventus hrII. They seem pretty good dry and I haven't really driven them on wet yet. But I like them so far, they're pretty quiet with a smooth ride.

I have had good experiences with Kumho Ecsta 712's. good handling in dry weather, and decent in wet. definately good "bang for the buck"

i have Falken Azenis RT615's and another set with Toyo T1S. both grip well in the dry and are fairly quiet, but only the toyo's grip in the wet. both are priced fairly well, but for daily driving, id go with the toyo for the wet handling.

T1S has been superceded by T1R, which are supposed to be even better, and the T1S had the same tread design as Goodyear F1, only cost much less (mebbe different compound, not sure)

Thanks,

The Pirelli's have been decent but I would like to try something different.
Has anybody tried Cooper's Zeon's?

I like the goodyears. I had the Kuhmo's. They were ok, and the price is right. When they get worn out tho, it's like driving a cement mixer. The Eagle F1's have a shitty sidewall. Lots of little ridges that really sling the tire shine.

Thanks a million, I really appreciate all the suggestions.

You must have read my mind True Blue, I was going to ask if anyone had tried the Nitto 555's. How long have you been running them?

-you mean on a single run on tires? haven't been able to gauge it since I live in an area where I've gotten lots of nails in the sidewall (unrepairable) had to replace).
-Or over the long haul? bought my '02 GT new in June '02. when the stockers wore down, I replaced them with Nittos and have never run any other tires since then. Sold the GT a few months ago and swapped those Nittos over to my Cobra. No plans of switching to any other tire. so, been running them for 3-3.5 years.

you evidently are very satisfied, 3.5 years is long enough to put them to the test. thanks for your input.

as a home builder i have been used to buying truck tires for 29 years, so, buying high performance car tires is a new bag for me.

thanks again for all the suggestions

I have Nitto 555's on my Mach..... not very happy with the wet performance. I had Sumitomo HTRZ II's on my Cobra. I was very happy with those in both dry and wet conditions.

im running the sumitomo htrz II . when the rears get worn down it loses traction fairly easy but everyones driving styles are different. the fronts still have 8/32 left. i tend to drive hard so my rears are pretty down about 4/32 installed about 20000 mile ago. pretty good tires over all wet and dry untill they start to wears down below half.
