To dump or not to dump, that is the question

I just dumped the exhaust today. I've noticed so many 4.6s with full pipes and they all sound the same. Pretty much. I loved the sound of my flows because they weren't "ratty" sounding like some of the exhaust I've heard (glass pack-ish), but I just wanted a lower Idle ehaust note. I definately got that today. It sounds like the 5.0s that I grew up hearing rumble up and down the streets, but it still has a little of that metallic high rpm scream that I liked so much from my full pipe setup. I came to the conclusion that I would dump the exhaust after many days of contemplation and once I heard code03gt's sound clips on moddedmustangs.com. he had the before and after clips. BTW thanks for postin that, I found it on a search for sound clips. So now I ask what is the Mustang community's opinions? Dump or no dump?

You know I an see how it will get old quick. My big thing is that with the pipes they always sound louder than they are fast. With aftermarket exhaust of course. For example if I shift to 3rd from fifth on the hwy it's screaming but not going anywhere. I've hear MANY mustangs do this same thing. Especially 03 & 04 Cobras before the boost kicks in. With the dumps it just sound healthy all around. My biggest problem is from 900-1100 rpms. That's when its anoying both to me and I'm sure my neighbors. For the most part the volume isn't an issue at cruising speeds. I'm actually suprised at how quiet the car is for having dumped 2 chambers. I'll probably go back with the pipes though. I just wanted to know what you all think.

After the dumps they just finish off the look, and aren't nearly as bothersome. I felt like the car was going to vibrate apart at low rpm. Thanks for the input.

I have dumps on my GT because I installed the 5link before the 5link2 came out. I originally had 1 chambers and it was WAY too loud. I then went to 2 chambers and it was OK, but ultimately went with really quiet Magnaflows. When I want loud, I just jump into the Mach.
