Tonight....Good and BAD

Well, me and Margo went to Temple tonight to run my Stang. Got my new shocks, upper and lower CA's. So, I thought I would see what I could do on the spray, since SAR was SO cold last weekend.

First run:1.9882 60' and 12.6621@110.91

Second run: spun real bad 2.2312 60' and 12.9578@110.56

Third run: 1.9828 60' and 12.6491@110.70

Last run: spun bad again 2.1701 60' and 12.8469@110.78

As I pulled into the pits, I heard a LOUD CLUNK as I turned the wheels and my heart jumped into my throat. I knew deep inside it was my rear end. Left the track and got pulled over for 44mph in a 35mph zone. Luckily, I got a warning. Got close to my house and again tried to turn sharp to the left, it sounded as if the left axle or something is SHIT. DAMN, not now, I really don't need this. So, tomorrow it will be going to the shop to get checked out.

sorry to hear man. what gears are you running? if your spining that bad you need to get urself a set of tires. im running a set of 4.10's with nitto's and spraying a 100 shot. dry kit

335/35/17 DR's w/3.73's.

Stock rear end, launching at 4800 rpms. On the 2 runs with 1.9 60's, the car hooked up really well. Enough so, that it shot my license plate out of the front windshield into my seat. On the 2.0 and 2.1 60's, I spun all the way through 2nd gear, launching at 5000 rpms. I am running a 150 shot.

My window switch is 3000 rpms and WOT, the spray was coming in at the end of first and i just really chirped the tires in second. Now, I don't know if the rear end was going away after the first pass and I wasn't getting all the power to the ground.

UPDATE

A few teeth on the ring gear are broken as well. Thinking about 4.10's now (changing from 3.73's). What kind of carrier do ya'll modular racers recommend?

No Locker in a 5 speed....They have too much slack in them. They're pretty bad in an auto, but in a manual they're really bad. Looking at an Eaton posi from Steeda.

eaton's are ok.

i had a locker in my 03 and it was fine. worked great.

tru trac...who makes the detroit locker also makes a very good LSD. I forget what its called.
