TPS-throttle position sensor
The TPS is located at the end of the throttle shaft on the throttle body. Using the TPS voltage signal the EEC determines fuel delivery based on throttle position. A bad TPS can be the cause of bad idle, which is caused by the injector pulse fluctuating. Some loss in performance can also be expected. The correct setting of this sensor is between .94 and .98. Just take a needle and stick it well into the green wire. Using a volt meter, check your ohm's. If you find they are not within those spec's, the loosen the 2 bolts holding down the TPS and gently move it, till you get your correct reading. This can only be performed with the KOEO (keyonengineoff)
To Clean the TPS: Sensor Safe carb cleaner or TB cleaner can be used to clean the sensor. Codes 122 through 125 are present when the EEC detects a TPS problem.
