Tranny oil.

I just wanted to get some input from the board. I will be changing the tranny oil soon in my '93 coupe. It has the stock 5-speed in it and I was wondering if it would be better to use a synthetic oil or use the mercon?

This is what I have always used. I was just curios if any other types like royal purple would be worth using.

I put royal purple into my tranny and diff at the same time and picked up 3 mpg. That convinced me. Might not be needed, but its nice to have.
