Trouble on way to work

I had just got done timing my car and turning the rev limiter up bc it was back fireing at about 3500 rpm. Well i can now get on it hard and its quick i should be pushing about 350 horses.anyways i was driving to work and my car stared back firing real bad and the only time it would stop is if i got on it so i pushed in the clutch and all of the sudden BANG! so i took off the vacum advance an waited about 5 min then the car would start. It scared the crap out of me though i had blow the motor. but i guess not i think it might have jumped timing.
