Tune up time.. my wallet hurts

Ok so I have ordered a new clutch(FRPP KC) steeda quadrant, firewall adjuster, oem cable, new plugs, new front isos for the mach 1 springs when they go in..also 10th anniversary cobra brakes for the front(my front brakes are toast)

I there anything else I should look into getting at 95k? rear end fluid is relatively new from my gear swap, COPs should be ok right? Should i snag a bottle of tranny fluid n have that changed while the clutch is getting done?

Mosr shops wont remove them since it is a fedral offense

I would for sure change the trans fluid (fyi it runs ATF in the manual trans ya know) since it would be real easy to drain and fill out o the car.

Ya it's been sitting for about two months before I ordered anything for it. But now the engine should be arriving soon. Didn't go the 4v route as I will be shopping for a cobra once my girl pays off her civic. Plus my car isn't worthy lol.

All in all I should be driving it in about two weeks once parts are In.

So I feel codys pain.

If you're going to replace the ISO's in the front then put some new ones in the back also.

Put a can of B12 Chemtool in the gas tank with about 1/2 to 3/4 tank of gas and run it till it's almost empty. Then fill it up and run it down to 1/2 tank. Then replace the fuel filter

Get some carb cleaner and a toothbrush and clean out the throttle body.

Get some good non residue contact cleaner and spray down the Maf sensor/

Get some Mobil1 ATF and change the trans fluid. If the trans feels notchy when cold then only put 3.2 qts back in the tranny instead of all 4. This infor is from the Tremec thread on Stangnet in which the tremec engineers told people to do that if they had notchy trannies or got the hard shift from 1st to 2nd when cold.

When you pull the shifter off to get the tranny out check the small nylon ball that snaps onto the bulb at the end of the shifter in the tranny. These can get old and crack sometimnes causing the shifter to get real sloppy.

Get a shifter gasket from Cobra Bob and put it on when you put the shifter back on.

Make sure there is still good grease in the shifter itself.

While the trans is out check the condition of the clutch fork pivot ball and the divot on the fork that it rides in. If they're really worn or scarred this can cause extra effort when pushing the pedal and can also lead to creaking noises.

Check the u joints while you have the DS out.

Check the tranny mount & engine mounts while the trans is out to look for any drying out or cracking. I just replaced mine with 88k on the odometer and the engine mounts were cracking pretty good and the rubber was pretty wobbly.

While the car is up in the air move the front tires back and forth to check for any worn parts in the steering system.

Try and move the tires in and out for the top & bottom to check the front wheel bearings.

Check the rack bushings for drying or cracking. Same for the rag joint on the steering shaft.

Flush the power steering fluid if it's never been done. Put some Mobil1 ATF in it.

Flush the cooling system and backflush the radiator & heater core.

Flush the brake fluid since you'll aready need to bleed the system anyway.

When you change the plugs use some anti-seize on the threads & put some dielectric greae in the boots before putting them back on.

from what i heard from the older experienced mechs...i wouldnt touch your tranny fluid if it hasnt been changed for awhile...the contaminents in it now could be helping...if you drain it and put new atf in it, it could break...dont know the science on it but thats what i've heard from the 30-40 year vets

Clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster. behind that is the cable and the ford racing box is the clutch.

On a side note.. On the calipers that come in a ford racing box that says: Made in Australia. The clutch ford racing box says : made in Korea.. lol not 1 thing I ordered has been made in America so far that was ford racing.

Still waiting on the isos and plugs to come in.

True.. im not complaining about it right now though. So far iv only paid 829 for everything. not to bad for replacing some fairly expensive parts.
