it sucks to have the 3.9L because of this thing. I had a 04 v6 with the 3.9L and tuning options are slim. think SCT is your only option.

From what some people told me while i was looking for a tuner, sct and diablosport (is that the right name..?) will both work. I could never confirm the diablosport (?) so i went with sct. If you want to get just a good tune already programmed on there for your v6 instead of dishing out for a dyno right away, I'd recommend buying from VMPtuning.com. He sells the sct tuners and is a well known v6 mustang tuner.

it wouldn't be so bad if I still had money to mod it, and if it wouldn't give me problems all the time!

With just an intake and True dual exhaust, what gains can my cousin expect from the SCT tuner?

I cant tell you number wise how much he will gain. If those are his only mods, then the tuner wont do too much, but the car will still feel stronger. With bolt ons on a v6, even with a tuner, you don't gain much power. Thats the downside of modding a v6. I still recommend getting the tuner though, as it will make the car run much better and it will definitely feel stronger. Then, if he decides to get lt's/udp/etc, the tune can just be adjusted and the tuner will help alot with power gains from those mods.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he could get a Sniper tuner, then he can make his own tunes as he adds parts, I've heard nothing but good things about sniper, if you're willing to trust yourself to select mods from a drop down menu

I believe you are right, but as most of us probably would not trust ourselves tuning our own car, I'd recommend SCT

If you do have knowledge of the subject, though, you could definitely look into getting a sniper.

The only thing that I wouldn't trust myself with is timing and fuel and stuff, but you don't HAVE to touch that stuff you can leave it stock, they have a ton of drop down menus just for bolt ons, then you don't have to get canned tunes
