the gears themselves are about 140-180. do you plan do to any racing? if you do, and want to run slicks and rag on your car a lot, go ahead and do it right and ditch your 7.5" diff. and put in a gt's 8.8" to start with. the 7.5" breaks here and there, sometimes only after lots of launches on slicks and sometimes just on the road messing around, i've heard all sorts of stories.

for your 7.5", it'd cost about 160 (gears) + 175 (tlok unit, you don't have one and need one if your'e going with more gear anyways) + (150-200) to install.

if you upgrade to an 8.8, wait around and find a good deal on one. i found an 01 gt's 8.8 for less than 300, and since they already have tlok, i only needed to swapt he gears and sell the 7.5... i ended up only spending about a few hundred or so total, but keep in mind i waited a while to find what i needed. either way you're talking about some good money.

well my grand ma is giving me 600 bucks for graduation!!! so im gonna put it towards gears and a t-loc... i dont plan on ever running slicks just cus its my daily driver....and my fat a** is to lazy to change the tires out every time i go to the track...so no on slicks ....so i should be safe with the 7.5"....so i have three last major questions that i know yall can answer... 1. is it worth the money in away that i will reaaly feel a pretty big difference off the line and overall??? 2. is there a place where i can purchase and have them installed at the same place??? 3. do you think this is a wiser place to invest the money...in other words will it be a mod that will really make a difference...like compared to intake and crap like that.... thanks again for all yall's help and i really appreciate yall's support and input ....i should be doing all this near graduation time so ill post and let yall know when its done so some of yall can enjoy yalls advice put to work! i know you dont drive yet mr. tim pryor... so well send a badass stang to come pick.. you up....its all good man soon enough youll be tearin up the track. and its just good to know you've got texas' most popular sports car sitting in the drive....i think we should have a detail day soon if the weather ever clears up...lets do a wednesday....or sunday...im guaranteed off those two days.... aight thanks again guys! ttyl -T.J.

1) yes
2) yes
3) i'd start with the bolt ons as they are the best bang for the buck. 100 or so total for an ebay cai, 200 for an underdrive pulley and belt, and a few more hundred for gt take offs or otherwise aftermarket catback. after you're done with those, gears are definitely the next step. once you have them along with a tlok, you'll never wnat to go back, trust me. driving slowly around town you won't notice it as much, but as soon as you floor it, the rpms will climb a lot faster and you'll be glad you got them.

if you drop a new engine (v8, hopefully the cobra dohc would be nice...) insurance doesnt know that engine is there.

Lots of people i know with the fox bodies pay insurance for 4 cyl. when there is a v8 in it. Thing I have learned from putting in money into cars...there is only so much you can do to the car... it is all about the engine. Get a nice engine (cobra ) then supe it up, and enjoy your insurance for a 6 cyl.

Well If you want to Lowball the insurance go right ahead..BUT remember if it gets stolen, you will be reimburesed for a 4 CYL or V6 NOT a V8 with mods.

For example my car was a 4cyl there aint no way in hell i want to have full covarage on a 4cly mustang, I have all my reciepts and insurance has came and looked at it to see what all it has. I would say save your money and do it right the first time.

No offence Matt

heres a crazy idea, why dont the people with 4 cyl. sup up there 4 cyl... and people with 6 cyl ....do the same ...and wo and behold the v8 stangs yall can sup your cars up to ....just remember before you make a person feel inferior for having a smaller motor... not every body can afford one!!! and trust me i would LOVE to get a GT......but i am only 18 and there still is a thing called LOW PAYING JOB! so why cant we just be content with what we have .... and the BIG BOYS! be happy we chose a STANG.. No offense to ne one but the size of the motor doesnt always matter....and i haveseen a few four cylinders beat a few GT's.... uh oh!what do you think is more fun, to beet a GT with a GT..or see a "6 BANGER" beat a GT..i personally would find it quite ammussing to see the V6 win.....And it has been done b4..ive never heard some one with a v10 pick on a v8....MATT! im just messin with ya man,, but some times you gotta put your self in a nother persons shoes...and incourage instead of discourage....ne ways thats just something to think about b4 someone lets there head swell... but you guys are great and most of you have been real supportive.. thanks again for all your help...mustang 4 life!!!

thanks again T.J.

ur right size dont matter look at it this way im imprest if i get beat by 4 cyl or v6 jimmiys car is a 4cyl and gona hit the low 9's hight 8's thats what i call impresive. its easy to tacke a v8 and macke it run 9's or 8's. thats my 2 cents
