under drive pulleys

im looking into getting a set of under drive pulleys for my car. any suggestions?? i may be able to get bbk off ebay for around $100 but i want to know if anyone out there can help me get them locally so i can install them this weekend.

bbk are piggy back pulleys. you want a set with a new crank pulley.

those won't work because they are for 01-04. you'll need the set from 96-mid 01, because they changed the water pump in mid 01.

your looking at about 4-5 lb-ft across the rev range...hp from 5-7 to the wheels. I had a before/after dyno, but the link is down, I'll try to find it.

May I ask a stupid question? I'm new to the whole mod thing, so I have no idea what under drive pulleys do. Can someone give me a brief description?

they basically underdrive your accessories, so that it takes less power to turn them. the cool thing is the power you get is everywhere, not just in the upper rpms.

I believe most people with V6's just get a underdrive crank pulley. You may want to search/post in the V6 tech to get a better answer about that.

so it doesnt affect the a/c temp. i was going to get them a couple of months ago. but someone told me that your ac will not get as cold after they are put in. its too hot in sa for that

March makes a set of under drive pulleys which replaces the crank, water pump, and alternater pulleys. I have them installed on my 04 and they work great they run about $130 a set.
