You can upload files from your computer to post in threads also. When you reply to a thread click the "manage attachments" button. There you can browse your computer for the files and upload them. There is a size limit when coming from your computer though. Once you have the "manage attachments" window open you can scroll down and it will give you the size limit of the different files you can upload. If you host the pics somewhere else and link them the size limits don't apply.
