if you added that much freon and oil you have a gi-normous freon leak or leaks somewhere. this does not mean your compressor is "shot" and is likely why the a/c clutch is cycling so much --making the hiccup sensation.

and if your having a hard time getting into first that doesn't right off the bat mean first gear is going out. could be the clutch or the cable. if its falling out of first then you've got some transmission work headed your way.

i'll assume you've got an 03 GT. the T-3650 transmission is a very nice unit and is worth putting money into.

if the car means that much to you these problems shouldn't be a reason that forces your hand to trade it in.

just an offering of some perspective from an objective outsider who's been down the path you're on.

nah the compressor bearing's are shot. The tranny syncro's are going bad is the problem with the trans and the clutch and cable are new less than 3k on them.

After an even more depressing day, I ended up taking her to the shop and having the a/c charged and oil added. Took 3 pounds and a thing of oil. The noise is better, and it blows colder, but nonetheless, still hiccups.

? 4 U If you knew the bearings were shot why pay $$ to charge it (other than it will cool now) and not spend the extra $$ and change the darn thing out b4 hand? Just doesnt make sense to me. And if it was so you coould trade it the amount of $$ lost for non working a/c on trade would not be enuf to make it worth the $$ you spent to have it blow cold. If the trans/clutch have only 3k on um do you have no warranty left?

Seems to me you guys are doing some silly stuff but it is your car and your $$ just my .02

:jeff: Thanks!

P.S. We don't pay retail to have things done like say recharge the a/c. :jmg680:

Just one of our perks. Besides, you drive the damn thing sweatin your a$$ off with your 3 yr old in the back seat while it clicks and blows hot. Hence, charge it, spend minimal dollars, and have it quiet down some for the dealer who is buying it and cool us off in the meantime.

Yeah, found a Titan that has the things I "need" and the color I want, Smoke.

Got the wheels and tires sold off the 03 and some factory bullitts put on. Swaped out the shifter with a stock shifter so now the 03 is ready to trade in. Just waiting now on the truck to get to the dealer then head down to have them look at the 03, and get the paperwork finished with the trade-in info. Been working with them over the phone. Got a BETTER bottom line price on the truck over the phone then I got at the dealer closer to home.

If all things go smoothly, should have the titan in the driveway tonight :mustngsha

It's AMAZING how much those Cobra wheels made that car. It's kinda ugly now, IMO.

yeah buddy we got us a Titan, It's the smoke color(about the same as DSG) 4 door, we got one hell of a deal on it too. Its the fully opted SE, tow package, suspension package, popular package(center counsil shift) and many many other neat little things. The wife is extremely happy with it. I know I am too. :mick:

My wife and son need A/C it would be a different story if it wasn't her daily driver but it was so it was replaced by something a little more dependable.
