Look to see if the rubber ring on the balancer is seperating, if so that would cause a imbalance which would cause a motor vibration.

vibrating at idle?

you can see the balancer off balance. or with it off like stated above, feel the back for ruber being pushed out. They are easy to replace.

the rubber is sticking out a little bit about 1/4 of the way around the balancer.

get it fixed right away or you might mess up your crank... and that would be devastating. -JM

Send a message via Yahoo to keg65
You'll be able to compare the new one to the old one and see that the weight is in a different location from the keyway

key point no one else has mentioned: does it vibrate relative to rpm's and when in neutral, or does it vibrate only while you're driving. Among other things, drive shaft u-joints going out cause vibration in the driveline, but only when you're driving. Just thought i'd point out something that happened to me back in the day. i'd check for play in the driveshaft or rear end if you arent sure of the balancer

But don't let it run for to long you could mess things up internally,or cause premature wear after repairs have been made.....

Go get a new one from oreilly auto parts for $60 (house brand) and of course it will cost more for the other brands. They come with a 1-2 yr warranty as well. -JM
