Wanna Dump The Subs ???

I have 2 10" Subs in a box in the back of my trunk and I want to take them out to save weight. I would like to still have a good thump in my bass tho. I was thinking of running my amp to the 6x8 Pioneers in the rear deck. Do you think that will still give me decent bass, or shoupd I try another option?

I also thought about mounting one of the subs in a bass cannon.

the setup i have is most likely only going to work well on a hatchback, however.. i have the whole system taken out dan, if you wanna come by sometime this week we can hook it up in your car and see how it sounds. its pretty light, if i remmeber right.. i wanna say brian said it was like 25-30 lbs max, but its been a while, dont remember totally.

anyways, as long as you got your wires from your subs already installed and all that, we can just take your out and hook mine up real quick and see how it sounds.

I may do that. Do you think the 6x8's will give much kick?

Yeah, I have heard 6x9's that sounded really good. Mabey I should just try hooking up the 6x8's to the amp and see what happens. Has anyone done this?

drop by my place dan, or we can meet up somewhere or something and check it out. if we do it sometime after 4, i can show you what kinda sound you can get outta the mach460 sound system (my moms 2000GT sounds pretty damn good!) which i think consists only of 6X9s and smaller.

grab one of those Infinity Bass-links
they sound alot better than bazooka tubes

though they may cost a good bit of money, has built in amp and everything and you can unplug it's power and pull it out whenever you want to go pretty fast (removes amplifiers weight as well when done )

6x8 or 6x9 ...doesn't matter, that bass will be horrendous (sp).

Just find an 8inch bazooka...8 inches is plenty, just ask my wife.

yea, you have a hatch right? see, setups like ours are SOOO much more bass friendly. trust me, if you had that setup in a coupe, it PROBABLY wouldnt be the same. bandit (my brother) was wanting to buy the setup i currently have from nighthawk when he was selling it, but when he installed it, he barely got ANY bass outta it (99 coupe). we installed it in mine real quick, and i was sooo amazed. the hatch glass resonates like crazy. but it is worth a try, if dan wants to just swap one in real quick to see what its like before buying. maybe the 99coupes and the 88coupes will sound different. never know until you try i guess.

Well the first thing im gonna try is makig a 10" bass cannon that will fit up under the rear deck. I can make it out of fiberglass or plastic and it will weight nothing. The speaker will weigh more. I will have to get the materials to build it and see how it works.

I got an 8 inch bazooka, the speaker is switched out to a Rockford Fosgate for a little more kick. You would need your own amp though. Make me an offer.
