Wanna puppy?

I came home from work today and let Kongo out like usual, then I saw a new friend in the back yard. I know where he came from, but they don't deserve him. He's very very skinny and neglected. I am just trying to see if anyone wants him before I call the pound. I doubt the neighbor will come knocking on my door for it, since last time we talked I had to threaten him with my pistol... Long story...

Here's the puppy. Looks like a pit mix to me. Should be probably less than 5 months, he still has all of his baby teeth...

Don't call the pound ... they'll euthanize him because he looks like he's got some Pit in him.

Bring him to Biff's on Friday night and someone will take him home, I bet!

We've got 3 dogs already, or I'd offer to help out ....

I don't really want to keep him in my house, and if he stays outside then my crazy neighbor will come into my back yard to get him... That's deff. not what I want. I'll find something to do with him... If the pound wants to kill him I'll look for a local pit rescue.

Can a puppie "overdrink"? This little dog has been tearing up the water bowl since I put it out there... I can actually see his belly getting larger with every bowl. Granted he was really skinny when he first showed up, but now he's got the usual fay puppy belly... Just a little bit of dry food so far, but he's drank the majority of 5 bowls full of water...

The humidity is very low right now, and maybe he's gone a few days without drinking water ....

I doubt he'll pop. But it may be indicative of something else ... I may be wrong, but aren't diabetics unusually thirsty? (Anyone?)

Poor baby!

Yes!! Dogs can over-drink and die...it's called bloat. Control the amount of water he drinks.

Dog Owner's Guide: Bloat
Lots of info on the net about it.

I was thinking that too!

Here he is asleep on an old futon cushion that Kongo usually keeps for himself... As you can see, he has no problem sharing!

I never knew these dogs were such lap dogs! I was laying on the couch and he wouldn't leave my side until I got up in this chair.

That is a beautiful dog. Dont take it to the pound...try to find a rescue or something. I have fostered dogs in the past and learned my lesson with the pound and humane society.
