for those of you with low cars on the NE side of SA, watch out in the construciton zone by kitty hawk middle school on kitty hawk road. coming from toepperwein, there is a HUGE bump where they cut the road for resurfacing right before you get to 1604- i bottomed out in the eclipse and it knocked a hole in my oil pan.

Yeah I was over at J and Ash house Saturday and her and I went to the forum in her car and got airborn. I ended going home a different route in my car.

yeah i work at the mccoys right there where all the construction is going on....it is pretty nasty......i wish they would hurry with all that damn construction

yeah its not a pothole, its just a drop between where they tore up the road for resurfacing and where they stopped..

but yeah, pics are in the plans. friggin converse has taken enough of my money.. lol j/k

Yeah it is NASTY. I went over it on my car at a crawl on saturday. Hell I even slow down in the truck...

BTW if you are on Oconnor beware of the huge bump in front of Sonic on the side headed toward 35 it isnt like the kittyhawk one but it is still bad

Lol I altered my route home down Weidner... Only took one time bottoming out my car there! As for Kitty Hawk I saw that drop off the other day and I went through the Walgreens parking lot and down 78... It took longer to get home but I didnt care lol! Sorry about your oil pan Paul

Yeah, Tinker goes to that Middle School right where they've been digging up the road ....

Remembering what you said, Paul, I went over that this morning at about 2 mph in the Miata -- OMG! its a HUGE lip between where they were digging it out and where the old surface still is!!!!!!

Take some pictures, with a ruler in the there for reference, before they get it finished up .... make them repair your oil pan. That's a road hazard!!!

Update:

They've added little ramps of asphalt to make the lip of pavement less pronounced ... it's helps a bit, but it's still a pretty good drop.

Leaving out of Tink's school, I have to pull straight out (like making a left) before I swing right ... that drop-off there is TALL!

also watch out for a big lump of asphalt on vance jackson between i-10 and 410, right after the walmart there. I bottomed out and the cracked my differential...had to replace the whole rear end....

Yeah, that bump has been there for well over 2 months now and still no action, even the asphalt they laid down to "help" is shifting and falling apart.

I passed that section the other day on Kitty Hawk and was re-directed through that mini mall parking lot, even saw Jen and the kids that day.
